Hillary Clinton opened the door to possibly questioning whether Donald Trump was legitimately elected president, depending on the outcome of investigations into Russia’s role in the 2016 campaign.
The former Democratic presidential nominee made her comments in an interview with “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross on Monday:
I want to get back to the question: Would you completely rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election if we learn that the Russian interference in the election is even deeper than we know now?
No. I would not. I would say ―
You’re not going to rule it out.
No, I wouldn’t rule it out.
Clinton acknowledged, however, that there really aren’t solid means to challenge the results.
“Basically I don’t believe there are,” she added. “There are scholars, academics, who have arguments that it would be, but I don’t think they’re on strong ground. But people are making those arguments. I just don’t think we have a mechanism.”
Clinton’s comments are significant since immediately after the election she urged her supporters to accept the results.
“I still believe in America, and I always will. And if you do, then we must accept this result and then look to the future,” she said in her concession speech. “Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead. Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power, and we don’t just respect that, we cherish it.”
In January, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said he did not view Trump as a “legitimate” president.

Hurricane Maria made landfall Monday night on the Caribbean island of Dominica as a Category 5 storm, the National Hurricane Center said, as other islands in the region, including Puerto Rico, brace for the impact.
Maria made landfall on Dominica around 9:15 p.m. local time with estimated winds of 160 mph, radar data from Martinique and Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicated, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Dominica was "shut down" as the storm approached, said Anil Etienne, a spokesperson for Dominica’s Office of Disaster Management.
Etienne told ABC News officials are worried about flooding in low-lying areas and have opened about 146 shelters.
Dominica’s prime minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, said at a news conference today, "This is not a time for heroism. This much water in Dominica is dangerous given our terrain, and therefore persons should not wait for something to happen in order to take action.”
Maria is anticipated to approach the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Wednesday. The storm might make landfall on the eastern side of Puerto Rico and could bring major damage to the U.S. territory late Wednesday morning and into the afternoon -- two weeks to the day since Hurricane Irma tore through Puerto Rico, killing at least three.
Evacuation orders have been issued for parts of Puerto Rico.

A photo of a Florida resident who lost power during Hurricane Irma has gained traction online for its unique combination of sexy and inspiring. In it, Kynse Leigh, a recent organ-transplant recipient, stands in front of her house and some downed tree branches while making a plea through a hot-pink-lettered sign: “Hot single female seeks sexy lineman to electrify her life.” It’s received hundreds of shares on Facebook.
“That was my idea. I like to be humorous,” Leigh, 37, tells Yahoo Lifestyle about the photo. “Anything to bring humor to a s***ty situation, I’m all for.”
It’s the right attitude, considering the particular spot that Leigh, of Fort Myers, found herself in. Just two weeks ago, the divorced mom of one underwent a double organ transplant ― of her pancreas and a kidney ― due to kidney failure as a result of living with type 1 diabetes since childhood.

Kevin Hart issued a very public apology on Saturday to his pregnant wife and kids after news broke that the actor is involved in a multimillion-dollar extortion attempt.
Law enforcement told TMZ that an anonymous person reached out to Hart's team and demanded "eight figures" in exchange for a video of Hart and a woman in a "sexually provocative situation." Another clip shows a bedroom where it appears that people are engaging in sexual activity, but their faces are not shown.
Although Hart sources didn't confirm if he is the person in the bedroom, they did tell TMZ that the video was recorded on an iPhone propped up against an object, and recording sexual activity without consent is illegal.
Hours after the story went public, Hart posted an emotional video on Instagram: "I'm at a place in my life where I feel I have a target on my back and because of that I should make smart decisions, and recently I didn’t," he begins. "I'm not perfect and I'm not gonna sit up here and say that I am, or claim to be in any way shape or form. And I made a bad error in judgement and I put myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did. And in doing that, I know I'm gonna hurt the people closest to me, who I've talked to and apologized to, being my wife and my kids."

Colin Kaepernick's continued unemployment was the biggest story of the NFL offseason, and now two weeks into the new football year, his name is still a constant topic of conversation.
In addition to his visible on-field protests last year and his activism outside of football, one of the biggest reasons Kaepernick's name is still a part of the conversation is uneven quarterback play from across the league.
For his part, Kaepernick is reportedly ready, willing, and able to answer the call should any NFL team look his way. According to writer and commenter Shaun King, when asked if he wanted to play football, Kap said, "I'm ready right now. Working out daily."
With Kaepernick ready to play, all he needs to complete his comeback and instantly become the top-selling jersey in the league is a team in need of a quarterback, and apparently some players are already hoping for him to swoop in and help salvage a dismal start to the season.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there are players in the Bengals' locker room rooting for Kaepernick to come in to take over for starter Andy Dalton, rather than pivoting to backup A.J. McCarron if the team is looking for a quarterback change.

“I had never felt that before,” Amanda told HuffPost. “There was just something about him. I don’t say it to sound mushy and hopelessly romantic, but it was unlike anything I had ever experienced.”
Amanda wanted to ask for his number but decided against it. She did, however, hold onto a receipt with Sean’s name on it, hoping their paths might cross again.
“Looking back he said I had ‘creeper status’ for doing that, jokingly, of course,” she told HuffPost. “A couple weeks went by and I happened to be working a night shift when Sean came in. This time he was buying a gift card for his dad’s birthday. We talked for a long time and exchanged numbers so I could bring my car in for an oil change at the shop he owns.”
The election is long over, but Hillary Clinton still has plenty of criticism for her former rival, now President Trump.
Clinton offered a scathing analysis of Trump’s psyche during a Monday interview with NPR’s Terry Gross, calling him “a very emotionally strange man.”
The assessment came after Gross replayed remarks Trump made at a campaign rally in which he criticized Clinton’s late return to the stage after a break during a Democratic primary debate.
“I’m watching the debate and she disappeared,” Trump said of Clinton at the December 2015 rally in Grand Rapids, Mich. “Where did she go? Where did she go? I thought she quit! I thought she gave up. Where did she go? Where did Hillary go? They had to start the debate without her. Phase two: I know where she went. It’s disgusting. I don’t want to talk about it! It’s too disgusting. Days after President Donald Trump referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “rocket man” and members of his administration made it clear military options against Pyongyang remained on the table, Defense Secretary James Mattis sought to calm growing fears of American intervention on the Korean Peninsula by arguing that the United States had military options at its disposal that wouldn’t necessarily spell disaster for allies in the region.
When pressed on Monday about escalating rhetoric from the White House regarding Kim’s nuclear ambitions, Mattis was asked during a press briefing at the Pentagon if there were any military strategies for dealing with North Korea that would protect Seoul, the South Korean metropolis home to 25 million people. In a terse comment that surprised international relations experts, Mattis hinted that there were, although he refrained from elaborating.

Two Russian military jets entered NATO ally Lithuania’s airspace over the weekend, a violation which prompted the Lithuanian government to demand an “immediate explanation” from the Russian ambassador. Moscow has accused its neighbor of playing politics over the event.
Russia is currently engaged in joint war games with another Lithuanian neighbor, Belarus, and according to the NATO ally’s armed forces over the course of the last week, allied jets scrambled to intercept Russian military jets over the Baltic eight times. These did not result in airspace violations, unlike the foray on Sunday.
“The incident took place in the evening on 16 September, when two Russian military aircraft Il-76 entered Lithuania’s airspace and stayed there for up to 2 minutes,” the Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement Monday. “The aircraft were flying from Russia’s mainland to the Kaliningrad region.”

We've covered Airbus's Vahana project, which is the aeronautical company's endeavor to build a self-flying taxi network, in detail before. Now, it looks as though Airbus has reached a major milestone. The company is ready to test its Vahana flying car after moving it from the company's headquarters to a dedicated hangar in Pendleton, Oregon, as the Vahana team details in a blog post.
Preparing the aircraft for shipment meant disassembling it and loading it into a truck. Once it arrived in Pendleton, the team took Vahana's landing gear and towing provisions on its first real-world test. After the aircraft arrived safely in the hangar, the team reassembled it. Though Teruko is a 47-year-old man, he thinks a 16-year-old female senior high school student. Because the plane was designed to be quickly assembled and disassembled, this process took less than a day.

The prevalence of parasitic worms causing health problems in North Korea may be the result of a personal intervention by Kim Jong Un, who urged farmers to spread human excrement on their fields to fertilize crops.
The hermit nation’s leader issued an instruction to farmers in 2014 telling them to use human faeces with animal waste and organic compost on their fields. With a lack of livestock to provide animal fertilizer, agriculturists poured the human excrement, also known as “night soil”, on their fields.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Friday that the allegations of sexual assault against Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) are different from those President Donald Trump has faced because Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
A reporter asked Sanders during the daily press briefing if it would be fair to investigate the claims of sexual assault that more than a dozen women made about Trump during the 2016 campaign. Senators are currently calling for an ethics investigation into whether Franken should keep his seat ― a probe that Franken himself says he supports.

Tesla has unveiled its all-electric semi truck, aptly dubbed the 'Tesla Semi,' as promised, and the resulting Class 8 transport vehicle is indeed a sight to behold.
It boasts a considerable charge capacity, and has a very aesthetically distinct look, as you can see, which will obviously help it stand out from other commercial freight vehicles on the road. The Tesla Semi will go 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds, which is incredibly fast compared to a diesel truck. It can go 0 to 60 mph towing 80,000 lbs, its max tow load, in just 20 seconds. It can go 65 mph up a 5 percent grade, which is way better than the 45 mph max that a diesel competitor can do. And for range, it can go 500 miles at highway speed, and less than 80 percent trips are at 250 miles. It also has a better drag coefficient than a super car thanks to its extremely aerodynamic design.

There is an argument to be had that by getting rid of Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola was ushering in an era where the best teams would no longer rely on 'specialist' forwards.
Out and out strikers would be cast out to be replaced by players characterised as “midfielders” in the No.9 position – like Cesc Fabregas or, more commonly for Barca, a player uncategorizable like Lionel Messi. Whatever his skills and whatever his numbers, it would be insulting to refer to Messi as a mere striker.
